Asparagus time in April & May

Asparagus fans can rejoice, because the season for the delicious white or green spears has started again. Asparagus simply always tastes good, either on its own with classic hollandaise sauce, in combination with meat, fish or vegetarian as risotto and much more. Asparagus, also known as asparagus, is not only low in calories, but also contains lots of vitamins. Whether white or green, both varieties are very healthy.

Our head chef has once again come up with a few dishes and conjures them up on the plate with his team. As always, he focusses on regionality and quality and sources the best quality asparagus from the famous Marchfeld region.

July & August is apricot time

In the summer months, everything in the Wachau revolves around the apricot. The origin of the apricot lies in China. Alexander the Great brought the apricot to Greece and Italy. Starting from the Roman Empire, it also reached the Wachau. Today, the Wachauer apricot is considered a European-wide speciality and is also transformed into delicious dessert variations in our hotel. Come and enjoy the unique taste of the Wachauer apricot!

It is important to us to always conjure up fresh and regional products on the plate, so you can enjoy our apricot dumplings again probably from mid-July.

Autumn time is mushroom time

We are lucky that we get the lion's share of our mushrooms from enthusiastic local mushroom hunters.  Especially on holiday, you can combine mushroom picking with a leisurely walk or hike. It provides relaxation and a tasty meal at the same time. The famous psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud already knew this. During his summer holidays, he swapped his formal dark grey suit for knee breeches and a traditional costume jacket and went mushroom hunting with his children.

For those who want to concentrate more on the marvellous view while walking or hiking, our kitchen team has once again come up with some dishes - to simply enjoy and be happy!

Guest Reviews

"We had a group dinner on the alfresco area of the restaurant. We started with lobster bisque, fillet and braised short rib with mash, and dessert was sour cherry walnut strudel. Staff was very friendly, service was good, great atmosphere and delicious food. The views were spectacular."
