    Hotel Richard Löwenherz is located in the historic centre of Dürnstein in the Wachau, directly on the banks of the Danube. Attractions, hiking trails, the Danube Cycle Path and the boat landing stage are all within easy walking distance.

  • How can I get to the hotel by car?

    You can reach Dürnstein via the B3 road. Our hotel is located in the historic town centre. For arrival and departure, hotel guests are permitted to drive through the pedestrian zone directly to Hotel Richard Löwenherz. A detailed route description can be found under “Location & Arrival”.

  • Are there parking spaces directly at the hotel?

    Yes. Parking spaces are available directly at the hotel in our two courtyards for our hotel guests. If you do not find a free parking space upon arrival, our reception team will be happy to assist you.

  • Am I allowed to drive through the pedestrian zone in Dürnstein to reach the hotel?

    Yes. As a hotel guest, you are permitted to drive through the pedestrian zone directly to the hotel for your arrival and departure. Please drive slowly in the historic town centre and be considerate of pedestrians and cyclists.

  • How can I reach the hotel by public transport?

    From Krems an der Donau railway station, you can reach Dürnstein by bus or taxi. The nearest bus stop is located at the P2 car park. During the season, you can also travel by the Wachau Railway to Dürnstein-Oberloiben station.

  • Is there a charging station for electric cars?

    There are no charging stations for electric cars available directly at the hotel. However, there are several public charging stations for electric vehicles in Dürnstein.

  • Do the rooms have a view of the Danube?

    Some of our rooms and suites offer views of the Danube, while others overlook the historic monastery garden or other areas of our property. The exact location and view are described in the details of each room category.

  • Are the rooms air-conditioned?

    Yes. All of our hotel rooms are air-conditioned and remain pleasantly cool even on warm summer days.

  • Are there family rooms?

    Depending on the number of guests, various rooms and suites are available for families.

  • Are children welcome at the hotel?

    Yes, children are warmly welcome at our hotel.

  • Are dogs or pets allowed?

    Yes, pets are welcome for an additional charge. Please note that pets are not allowed in the monastery garden or in the breakfast room.

  • How can I book directly with the hotel?

    When booking directly, we are personally available to answer your questions and assist with individual requests. We can also advise you directly on our available room categories and offers.

  • What are the cancellation conditions?

    The cancellation conditions depend on the rate or offer booked. The applicable conditions for your reservation will be shown before completing your booking and are also stated in your booking confirmation.

  • Can I change my booking?

    Changes to your booking are possible depending on the rate booked and availability. Please contact us directly. For non-cancellable or non-refundable rates, a change of booking may not be possible.

  • Are there discounts for longer stays?

    Yes. For stays of 5 nights or more, you receive a 5% discount, and for stays of 10 nights or more, a 10% discount.

  • What payment options are available?

    You can pay with Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, V PAY, American Express or in cash (excluding € 500 banknotes).

  • Is Wi-Fi available at the hotel?

    Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available for our hotel guests. You will find the access details directly in your room.

  • Is the hotel accessible?

    Due to the historic structure of the former Poor Clare monastery, our hotel is not fully accessible and is not equipped for guests with disabilities. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please contact us before making your booking.

    Yes. Breakfast is always included in the room rate during your stay at Hotel Richard Löwenherz.

  • When is breakfast served?

    Our breakfast is served daily from 7:30 am to 10 am in the historic rooms of the hotel.

  • Can external guests also dine at Restaurant Richard Löwenherz?

    Yes. Our Restaurant Richard Löwenherz is also open to external guests.

  • Do I need to reserve a table?

    We recommend reserving your table in advance so that we can plan your visit accordingly. Especially on weekends and during the high season, making a reservation in good time is highly recommended.

  • What type of cuisine does the restaurant offer?

    At Restaurant Richard Löwenherz, you can enjoy Austrian cuisine with seasonal and regional specialities, featuring a special connection to the Wachau region.

  • Are vegetarian or vegan dishes available?

    Yes. We also offer vegetarian and vegan dishes. If you have any special dietary requirements or intolerances, please let us know in advance whenever possible.

  • Can I dine on the Danube terrace in good weather?

    Yes. Weather permitting, we serve lunch and dinner on our Danube terrace with views of the Danube, the church tower and Dürnstein Castle ruins. Breakfast is not served on the terrace.

    Yes. Our spacious monastery garden features an outdoor pool that is available to our hotel guests.

  • Is the pool heated?

    No. Our outdoor pool is not heated.

  • Who can use the pool and the monastery garden?

    The pool and monastery garden are exclusively available to our hotel guests and offer a peaceful retreat in the heart of Dürnstein.

  • Is the hotel located on the Danube Cycle Path?

    Yes. The Danube Cycle Path through the Wachau runs in the immediate vicinity of Dürnstein. Our hotel is therefore an ideal starting point for cycling tours along the Danube.

  • Can I store my bicycle at the hotel?

    Yes. Bicycles can be stored at our hotel. Our reception team will be happy to show you the designated storage area upon arrival.

  • Is there a lockable bicycle storage room?

    No. We currently do not have a lockable bicycle storage room. Our reception team will be happy to inform you about the available storage options upon arrival.

  • Can I charge my e-bike at the hotel?

    Yes. Charging e-bikes is possible upon request. Please contact our reception team.

  • Can I rent bicycles or e-bikes?

    Yes. We offer city bikes and e-bikes for rent. As availability is limited, we recommend making a reservation in advance.

  • Can I go hiking directly from the hotel?

    Yes. Numerous hiking trails through the Wachau vineyards and around Dürnstein can be reached directly from the village. Hikes to Dürnstein Castle ruins and through the surrounding vineyards are particularly popular.
