Restaurant
Look forward to special moments of indulgence in a relaxed atmosphere in our stylish dining rooms. On warm days and balmy summer evenings, why not enjoy your meal on our terrace, whilst taking in the view of the Danube?
Our cuisine
Look forward to cuisine that brings the flavours of the Wachau to your plate with great sensitivity, creativity and subtle modern touches. To complement this, we serve top-quality wines from the Wachau and other Austrian wine-growing regions.
In our romantic restaurant, with its traditional artists’ regulars’ table, history, a stylish ambience and moments of special indulgence come together.
On warm days, the Danube terrace, shaded by chestnut trees, invites you to linger. Here, you can enjoy the view of the passing boats, the Baroque abbey tower and the ruins of Dürnstein Castle.
Richard Löwenherz
I am Richard I ‘the Lionheart’, patron of the house and the restaurant – and probably Dürnstein’s first, albeit involuntary, distinguished guest, having been held captive by Duke Leopold V of Austria. Yet even today, as the house is named after me, I watch over it and welcome its guests to enjoy a pleasant time here.
