When preparing our exquisite dishes, we not only ensure our ingredients are of the highest quality, but also source them from local and environmentally friendly suppliers.

Fruits from our garden
In our hotel’s own garden, right next to the Danube, the apricots, figs, plums and walnuts for which the Wachau region is famous thrive, depending on the season. Depending on the season, the fruit can be found fresh from the harvest as a healthy and appetising extra on our breakfast buffet and is transformed into delicious desserts in our kitchen.

As for our homemade apricot jam, we wouldn’t be telling the truth if we claimed it was made in-house solely for the sake of sustainability. Of course, it is made without preservatives, using reusable jars, and is simmered in an energy-efficient manner under the supervision of our head chef. The main reason, however, is that our apricot jam, made according to an old family recipe, is part of our hotel’s tradition – and simply tastes wonderful.

Our swimming pool is not heated, to save energy and protect the environment. Cool off in sun-warmed water – in perfect harmony with nature.

Room cleaning
To help protect the environment, we offer the ‘Green Option’. This means that, if you are staying for several days, you have the option to opt out of daily room cleaning.

Towel service
If you would like to reuse your towels to help protect the environment, please hang them back up. If you would like fresh towels, please leave your used towels on the bathroom floor.
